Goodwin- The relaxed and humorous narrative demonstrated genre characteristics of pop music very well, as did the mix between narrative and artist shots. The illustrative relationship between lyrics and visuals helped to bulid on the already positive feel of the song. The use of cuts and rewinds placed on the beat was an effective use of relationship between music and visuals I feel worked very well. The artist shots were all close up, so were a very good example of record label demands.
The video also felt similar to the offical one but not to the point not to the point where it felt like a rip off, as your theme of 'food' seemed rather original. Both were playful and rather comical, using simple yet effective techniques ,such as your rewinds, placed on the beats. The drawn on tash also helped to link the two videos together.
The theme of the music suits the characteristics of the song as its very quirky and upbeat, although the visual link between the lyrics and the video arn't strong it still works very well as the impression is given that the characters in the video are all close friends having a fun time which is what the song appears to be about. The video has a really good link between the visuals and the beat - as the cuts, transitions and when the clips are reversed are all in beat with the song and the fade in to the girl singing seperates it from the rest of the clips nicely. The pace of the video is steady but the clips could be a little shorter. The way the footage has been shot makes the audience feel apart of the scene with handheld, close ups and pans. I think the seperate shots of the characters before and after the food fight worked really well and writing 'BARCELONA' in ketchup at the end was a really good way to end the video. I think this music video is very original and entertaining!

Lyrics and Visuals This video is quite abstract when it comes to the relationship between the lyrics and visuals because the only obvious link is when the lyrics say 'all of my friends' and clearly the videos narrative revolves around being with all your friends, however it is not contrasting at all or illustrative really, however i think this is effective for this song. 3. Music and visuals i think the music and visuals have a fairly strong relationship, with the cut rate linking to the tempo of the song. the reverse effect is good because it has been carefully placed and thought out. However i think that although some of the cuts have been thought out, i dont think that they are quite cutting on the beat of the song. 4. Demands of the record label the use of clips of the artist singing on their own in the video helps to build up a strong artist image as they are depicted sepaarate to the rest of the characters. she is also portrayed as a fun loving and free type, as she has a mostache drawn on her and has food thrown on her, she is also laughing, again this would support a good artist image. 5. Notion of looking i think it is a good effect that the artist is singing directly into the camera to engage the audience, similarly it is also good that the other characters dont look at the camera during the food fight, however in the begining and end clips they do, it similarlygives them an identity and connection to the audience. 6. Intertextual references i didnt notice any interextual references really however i dont think they were needed and is more effective without.

The video is very good and very illistrutive of the upbeat tempo of the song, i think that the effects used such as the reverse shots and slow motion shots are interesting and add an element of originality to the clips, however i would suggest the use of effects on your clips to prehaps brighten them and have more bright colours involved to make the video more genre specific.
